Wayne Chao is the founder and director of several companies focused on facilitating cultural and business ties between Australia and China.

Toward the end of his Computer Science degree at the University of Adelaide in 2006, he produced Flying Ostrich, a Chinese play which drew an audience of 500. The experience allowed him to grasp the vast needs of the Chinese community in Adelaide and became a launching pad for him to establish SA’s leading Chinese media company, iAge Media Group, in 2007.

In 2013, he cofounded Simway Consulting. This specialist investment consultancy provides business intelligence and government relations services in the Australia-China space, and has been instrumental in facilitating transactions between various government bodies and business groups.

In 2015, he established an industrial investment company AWTE Enterprise Pty Ltd with his business partners. The company has invested in Harbour Bottling Pty Ltd, an Australian wine bottling and exporting business which aims to provide a comprehensive export service platform, including wine production, packaging, warehousing and exporting services to help local wineries and exporters deliver their products overseas.
